MINDFUL ART FOR YOUTH
Children are asked to create artworks base on their observations in nature: who lives in these woods? Each project teaches them different art techniques. Projects may includeTexture-Based Weaving, Wooden Pole for Forest Creatures or Good Will Flags.

"What got me to make the squirrel, is because there were squirrels crawling around everywhere and they were jumping on the trees, and I thought why don't I put a squirrel on the pole."

"We were supposed to make a vine, but now it's a water monster. There's a woodpecker with two eyes. We even wrote a haiku."

"We can really draw whatever we want. Animals and flowers and trees... Even the worms that live in the dirt!"
"We wove lots of stuff into the weaving, like men's ties, rope, string and silk."
