Deborah Coffey is a contemporary artist based in Washington, DC. Her work is inspired by Conceptual Art and Expressionism. Her ideas come from impressions in nature, the social and political environment and a passion for experimental processes and the possibilities they provide. She plays with contradictions and combinations in her work and delights in the sense of mystery and wonder that emerges. Something Deborah says is
"A sign that reads, 'This Is Not a Good Sign', is probably one of the better signs around."
